XYAYX STEM Expo:
Join us for an extraordinary event as we proudly present the "Changing the Faces of STEM" STEM Expo, held at the historic Weeksville Heritage Center in Brooklyn on May 17th, from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Weeksville holds a special place in history as the first African freetown in Brooklyn and among the first in New York City. This event is of significant importance to XyayX the Movement's mission to increase the involvement of Black and Brown students in STEM fields.

Seating is limited, so be sure to arrive promptly at 10:00 AM. Early arrivers will be treated to lunch, snacks, and refreshments. All students will have the opportunity to participate in a guided tour of the Weeksville Center, learning about its rich and impactful history.

Throughout the day, students will engage in interactive activities designed to expose them to the fascinating world of science. Our Electrical Engineering room will introduce students to the basics of circuits and provide hands-on experience with Tesla coils. In the Structural Engineering and Architecture room, students will build truss bridges, while our Biolabs room offers an opportunity to delve into the microscopic world and explore key organs of the body.

​Outside, students will explore projectile motion by launching objects with our large catapults and Estes rockets. In the Atrium area, students can experiment with renewable energy, control robotic art, and explore concepts like pulleys and more.
